Garden Update

The garden is a bustling place with projects this week.  Most of the projects involve the borders, paths, and areas around the gardens and not actually the garden beds, but it is all in anticipation of making the garden more accessible and easy to manage next year.  Despite my promise that I wasn't going to add much garden space next year, I've already carved out a nice new large junk that just made sense to make into a garden.  We're still a long way away from done, but already there is a sense of order coming into to the rather chaotic garden.

On the other side of things, there are still things to be harvested this week: popcorn, MORE tomatoes, flowers, pumpkins, raspberries, ground cherries, brussel sprouts, kale, swiss chard, beets, and a few other goodies tucked in out there.  We're trying to grab those warm moments in the sun in the middle of the day to head out to the garden.  With highs still in the 60's it's perfect weather to get outside and enjoy these lovely fall days.

How's your garden growing?

Each Friday I share photos from our garden with an update about what we're doing, what's growing, and what we're eating.  I invite you to come play along, I love seeing what others are trying.  You can join the fun in 2 ways:

  • If you blog, I welcome you to write a post or share a post from that week about what's growing in your garden
  • If you aren't a blogger, I invite you to join my gardening flickr group and share photos of your garden from this week
  • And last - if you don't want to blog or share photos, just follow along and check out all the links and photos and maybe share a comment with your own gardening experience from the week
