The Backyard Farming Connection #20

We're entering into the late winter period here in NY (right before mud-season).  It's always a tough time for me, when I'm ready to get out there and get going, but still need to sit tight for a few more weeks.  This week's features reflect the beauty of this season, and gives some ideas for growing even before the season is really underway.

Check out this wonderful photographic journey of tapping the maple trees from The Chick n' Coop

For those of us who can't start planting yet, it's time to start sprouting.

From Chickadee Garden, Gardening Without a Garden: Growing Sprouts

And from Fruhlingskabine Micro-Farm, check out this entire series on developing a sprouted fodder system.

I want to know what's happening, in your garden, on your homestead, in the barnyard, and in the kitchen.  Whatever is in your backyard farm and home, I would love to hear about it.

Each week I will share some of my favorite posts in the newly formed Backyard Farming Connection Facebook page.  And in case you haven't seen, I have a new 'featured button' so if you've been featured in the past, grab a button.
