  1. I was wondering if you could answer a question for me. I have a friend that has a couple of goats. He is afraid to get sheep because he heard that they pull the grass out at the roots and he says goats just eat the grass on the top. Is this true? I have been around sheep, but never noticed this. I do not have either goats or sheep. I just like to spin the wool. Thank you! Dawn

    1. From my understanding, sheep tend to eat grass and crop it right down to the bottom, so if they are put on land intensively, they tend to kill the grass, but if grazed on a rotation, will often keep the grass down without killing it. They may not pull it up by the roots, but the result may be the same. Goats are selective eaters, and prefer weeds, etc, so they don't pull up the grass either.
